English speaking computer repair service in Seoul

Do you need to find a great English speaking computer repair service in Seoul, South Korea? Well, I’ve got you!

Needing tech repairs abroad can be extremely stressful. What do you do if your laptop breaks while traveling? Well, I unfortunately found myself in this predicament during a long stay in South Korea. I have the somewhat overly frugal habit of using my electronics till the wheels fall off, so to speak. So, in the midst of my adventuring, I was suddenly tasked with finding a place to fix a computer in Seoul. As I don’t speak Korean nearly well enough to articulate such an issue, I also needed to find a computer repair service fluent in English. You never know what needs may arise while traveling and South Korea is a country where you can take advantage of some great quality yet very affordable services.

Phil’s business is one of many inside the Yongsan Electronics Market ( 용산전자상가): a huge complex of buildings containing various independent vendors. This is the largest electronics market in Korea where an array of hardware, gadgets, and accessories are sold. Even if you’re not in search of computer repairs, this place is a must-see for tech lovers in Seoul!

Building #21 at Yongsan Electronics Market

Phil’s Computer Repository is located in building #21 (The buildings are conveniently clearly numbered on their facades). Inside this large building are long corridors of various shops and equipment.

It was a little intimidating at first but you simply follow the overhead signs to the staircase. If you enter at street level as I did, his office is just one floor up. The rooms are clearly numbered and you will find Phil’s office in room number 242.

My Experience

My first meeting with Phil was a free consultation and quote to assess what I needed (in my case, a new laptop battery). Phil was so kind and professional through the entire process. Like many people, my remote job requires a laptop, so I arrived to his office a little frazzled to say the least. His relaxed, friendly demeanor put me at ease and he is clearly very knowledgeable in his field.

Keep in mind that your repairs may take a few days to complete if special parts are required that he may not have on hand (for example, my laptop required a specific battery model that needed to be ordered). When services are complete do be prepared to pay with cash. I also recommend contacting Phil ahead of time rather than just dropping by. This is a small independent business where availability may vary day to day. Check out his website for all contact details.

Stay Prepared!

It never hurts to remember to take special care of your electronics while traveling: always have a good case for your laptop and don’t forget a power converter with surge protection to accommodate different international voltage. If you find yourself in this beautiful city and have any computer troubles, I certainly hope you’ll reach out to Phil’s Computer Repository: a great English speaking computer repair service in Seoul.
